Has any one used human clippers to re-clip a horse? He was done about a month ago and it's starting to get long again so rather than paying £35 I wondered if human clippers would do it? Thanks

The ones I have seen are Wahl mains powered ones so charge wouldn't be a problem. I doubt they would struggle to get through the hair but I expect they will get hot quickly so I would have to leave them too cool every so often. I might risk it for £15

Human clippers do not have the power to clip a horse even if the horse has been previously clipped. Even if you bought dog grooming clippers or similar they would get hot & probably burn out before you managed much of the clip. There is only one way to clip a horse & that's buying proper clippers & clipping the animal yourself or pay for someone else to do the job.

this is true there is a reason why proper horse clippers are £200 plus if we could buy a pair for £15 to do the same job we would all be doing it, I have human clippers and I use them for trimming the face and feathers for show season there is no way I could clip a whole horse with them.

So it turned out my grandma had some clippers that were brand new and she didn't want so she said I could have them this morning, I thought I may as well try and if they didn't last I would get someone to finish him off. But they worked!! They managed to do a blanket clip, it did take me a while because I had to leave them to cool but I was really impressed. I was probably lucky and don't know if they will do another clip but all went well this time!
