Cloned horses...What do you think?

PPP - a clone also won't necessarily look like the original as it is believed that markings can be affected by the position of the foetus in the womb (Not 100% sure this is the case for horses, but I seem to remember it is) and I don't think it is a leap of faith to assume that the ET recipient mare will also have some effect on foal size/confo. As others have said, I agree that talent is also due more to training and the individual's temperament.

True, even identical twins have differences, but what i mean is that, if cloning becomes available to everyone and anyone, people who have money to afford it but couldn't care less how it works will have great expectations of the same animal, in their mind the point will be to keep their favourite dog Fluffy going forever, and this will cause problems because yes the clone has Fluffy's genes but i may not look entirely like Fluffy and it won't behave like Fluffy. We already have too many unwanted animals without cloning and i hate to think what would happen to all those unwanted animals that 'it was supposed to be Fluffy, but it bit me, Fluffy never bit anyone' :(
