CLOPF Surface, anyone?

I've got Clopf, its been down a year this coming Feb. We have leveled it once or twice and it honestly doesn't track up or anything. There is only my 4 horses using it, however my old menage (sand an equestrian surfaces fibre) was always tracking up, and needing leveling regularly.
Is it being added to your existing surface, or new build?

Its a new build! I am really excited! There will only be 3/4 horses going round on mine too. Do you roll yours?

If its a new build i would recommend premixing the clopf into the sand, rather than putting it on top and rotovate it in. OH builds arenas for a living, and he suggests this to customer, we did it in our own and from day one it was brilliant, didn't have to wait for it to bed in/settle.
We don't need to roll ours either, up to now its been the easiest surface maintenance wise i've ever had!

Thats interesting! Shall mention that to my builders! Do you have any pics of you riding in yours?

I am getting a CLOPF surface over the next couple of weeks (excited)

Has anyone got one? Or ridden on one? How do you find them?

Also how do you maintain yours and what weight roller do you use if you use one?

If you haven't ordered it yet I would hang on and consider other surfaces, I had Clopf down for a new build 2 years ago and ended up taking it out this year and put combi-ride in (100x better and cheaper), it just didn't work for us, but its the very poor customer service from Martin Collins you have to be careful, in the sense there isn't any.

you can PM for more details if you like, otherwise good luck with them, you will need it if things go wrong.

I have to say follyfarmEC - I hated the combi-ride! One of my horses refuses to move forward properly! He doesn't jump well on it at all... That's just my experience though

odd how a surface will work wonderfully in one arena and not in another! I know alot of it is all down to sand, we choose our surfaces carefully but we most of us (inc me) dont understand how important the sand is and that they aren't all the same.

I have already ordered it! Got loads of money off and got an amazing deal! Martin Collins have been amazing with me so far! They arnt putting my surface down, just dropping it off but have been very helpful everytime I have rung them. They have sent me a huge pack about how to lay my surface and informed my builder of how to do it too!

I am excited to crack on and ride! Ive found it hard working on grass all summer!

That was the same with me, pre-sales is great, but after sales is where you test their customer service.

So long as your sand is good, you shouldn't have any issues and in fact it's amazing when it works, so good luck and hope it goes well for you!

I got the sand from them too and its the same as they use in their other surfaces, so fingers crossed. Ill post pictures throughout the build.

Echo everyone else, just fantastic. Horses ride on top an not through the surface. My vet commented on why more folk dont use surfaces like this rather than the really springy ones. Mine rides just like any top name waxed surface when damp/wet.

Only teeny niggle is that when dry and windy the fluff comes out to the top and that's when and only when I put the grader through it to put it back in again. Never need to do anything with it otherwise as it simple doesn't track at all.

So, if I were building it all again I'd either have a waxed surface if I win the lottery or CLOPF but with some way of keeping it watered LOL!
