I was sent this by a breeding friend today.......it's absolutely fascinating!! And the best bit is.....Cloud isn't overdue at all.

I hadn't heard of that one with the drips of milk on a black surface before .... interesting. But I do have my milk testing kit, well it's actually a Pool testing kit LOL!! Works even better apparently.

I never go by waxing or milk sacs to be honest. I know fine well that these can change within a few hours. My favourite sign to look out for is the vulva and the dropping and slackening of the rear end.....however those don't give you specific indications, as we've already found with our little Cloud.

Where are you at with your mare Enfys? What stage is she at?

Lola this afternoon, very hairy and dusty.......and grumpy

She has bagged up and is waxing but that's up and down, hasn't really loosened up much as you will notice, although I do think her tail head is changing. Fortunately my photobucket is playing up so you are spared a "this is one I took a week ago" photograph. Still 2-3 weeks I thought and the Vet thinks so too (we have a lovely Equine only chappie 10 minutes away) it will come when it's ready.
I have a Pool Test Kit, what do you do with that then please?
Glad to see Cloud looking well and enjoying the sunshine, is Ezzy "fading"? I thought he was a bay paint

I figure she was hanging on for this weekend

over 20 degrees all three days and beautiful sunshine. I think she is also hanging on for a Taurean baby - every one knows us Taureans are the best

I had wondered whether the foal might wait for the warmer weather...actually I was hoping so. Gosh what a nightmare it would have been if it had been born in the past week or so with all that rain and miserable weather. Yes we have mud this year! Not nice, thank goodness I can stay in the tractor to hay them all.

Enfys I'll PM you the details on what to do with the Pool testing kit.
