Clydesdale racing!!!

It was on the BBC News, Martin Clunes persuaded them to do it, they ran all of 200 yards!
And one of them left an enormous pile of poop in the parade ring! They won't be asked back!

I expect they weren't in training! Oh gosh, only TB poo acceptable then!

They were in training, as much as a heavy can be - have a look at Adventure Clydesdale, they have a FB page. It was great fun to watch - they were pretty confused at the start, racing in cold blood so to speak, and were wobbly and one spooked at a hurdle, the best bit was the big grins on the jockeys' faces, they loved it. My money was on Siryl, the owner later told me he needed a longer trip...! Link for you... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-25080973

It was for charity and I think it's really good fun and the horses are lovely :)

Thanks for that.

I thought they looked magnificent!

Faaaannnntassstic!!!

Saw it on the news; and great that it happened down here in the Westcountry!

Um, what about "cob racing"???? My traddie boy's fizzing fit and ready to go if any other cob out there fancies the challenge????

Will this start a new trend do you think???

The betting fraternity don't mind what they bet on :D and it'd make a change from watching TBs whizzing around. Think the races should be longer though.
Maybe the various racetracks are missing a trick here. Although I think it'd have to be all weather tracks or they'd never get them repaired and the TBs would fall down the holes left by their large footsies :D
