having recently hijacked a recent post feel it's time we all show off our lovely nags, so those with any Clydesdale's or X's lets show them off!!! post your pics for us all to enjoy....
This is Copperfield. He's probs 3/4 clydie but only 16hh unfortuantly he's now at devon horse and pony sanctuary with bristols police horses as he damaged his shoulder and can no longer work. As much as I love him he's the most badly put together horse in the world (i've been very careful which pics i've put on!) He came to us bad to catch, couldn't clip or shoe, by the time he left you could do anything with him. and he was amazing with kids. Makes me smile even thinking about him.
Thanks, my big silver handsome boy, who is the light of my life is now sadly retired due to arthritis. I am so upset, but he is still here with me and thats the main thing. He is my big pet x
Ahh Highland!!!! had no idea which is why i grasped as straws last night!!! he is just fab, and think it's wonderful to see all the other wonderful horses, what a collection.
I think seeing all these wonderful clydeys and clydey Xs, its clear that they make fantastic horses who can do anything!
My big silver Jake used to love jumping and was fantastic at bending races and handy pony!! I taught him to say please in 10 minutes and another 10 mins to teach him please left and please right. He is that bright. He also likes paddling/swimming.
Copper was just a fantastic driving horse although no as flexible as you'd like because of his rubbish confomation. One of his trick when he ate he would pick up his front feet alternatly and swing them in circles untill every last bit was gone! Used to call it the dance of the copperfield. He also taught out other horses to come to call which is usful when they're in 30acre field! When he'd bonded with our coachman he'd come over when you shouted and the others would follow, well its 2 years since he went now and thier still doing it! Oh and his bottom lip used to hand down so low that you could put stuff in it and he wouldn't notice! hehe
