Clydesdales :-)

I rode one for a nervous owner who was purebred and quite compact at 17h. Have also ridden the Blackstones which were a whole different kettle of fish, two I rode were approx 18.2h and absolutely solid muscle, really different shape to the smaller one.
In general I've had good experiences with them but I dont think I'd buy one for myself as its always in the back of my mind that they're bred for ploughing and not riding.
Is Mr Mulry half Clyde?

I love Clydies, one of my most exhilarating experiences with horses was being driven in an old vehicle, I can only in my ignorance, describe it as a sort of horse drawn bus, pulled by two clydesdales. When they were asked to open up cantering up a hill, wow the power.

As a teenager I was lucky enough to ride exercise a Clyde x tb who was a grade b show jumper, hacking on my own cantering along grass verges, he had the most fabulous temperament.
