Coat taking ages to grow back?

Is anyone else's horse taking forever to grow their coat back? This winter was the first time in over 3 years I'd clipped, so it wasn't the neatest clip ever and now its starting to grow back a tiny bit it looks horrendous! My poor horse is embarrassed to go out in public

To make it worse his summer coat is a lot brighter than his winter coat or when clipped so he's growing ginger tufty bits everywhere

Anyone else in the same boat?

Yep, gingerknobbermare looks a right state at the moment! She has only in the last 2 weeks started having summer coat cone through & now she had horrid tramlines of clipped hair that won't come out!

Think it is the cold weather meaning they are 'hanging on' to their winter coats, which are clipped..... very odd!
