OK if any of you have seen my earlier posts I am in a horrible position personally and think selling my horse may be the only option. All the replies I got to my post the other day were to put my lovely horse on loan.

If however I can't do this or find a suitable place for him to go I will have to go for the option of selling him.

He was orignially from Lynne Russell, her youngsters start at 5K looking at her ads on Horse Quest.

He is only just 9, is there anything else I should put on the ad? have looked at cobs for sale but it's hard to work out a price as there's lovely ones that have qualified for HOYS etc at 12K (!!!) and scraggy ones at £3k

I havent been able to find any current ads that really would describe/be similar to him, maybe coz most people who would have one like him would't sell them!! He would make a fantastic hunter, everyone at the yard says he should be a police horse!

9 year old 16.2 dark bay irish show cob. Stunning horse with real presence. Placed every time out showing, always in the top 3. Would easily show at county level maxi cobs excellent conformation. Has hunted, sponsored rides, jumped at local shows, placed in dressage etc etc. Hacks out but prefers company. 110% to catch, load, clip, farrier. Extremely affectionate and turns heads wherever he goes this horse really is one in a million. Same home last 5 years.

Dont realy know. Our green cob, 15.2, 5/6 years old, lovely girl, average confo was £3.5.

Sorry to hear you may have to sell. Sounds like your would be worth a lot more.
 
Maybe say he was from LR ?? Do you have photo?

Would he be suitable for novice or fairly novice rider as this also affects the price
 
No he's not what I would say a first horse or novice ride by any means, he has some spark about him but I suppose that's what gives him the 'presence' that places him up the line in the show ring. Last year went to a local show and I met the judge judging the hunters later in the day, we got talking she asked me what horse I had I said a cob she said is it the one with the white face as she had spotted him from across the show ground!
 
He sounds amazing, sorry you ahve to sell him. I reckon you could advertise him at £7000 if he's not novice ride but still got realtively good manners and not difficult. he sounds like a dream sort of horse, could do dressage and turn his hoof to anything...
 
I suppose I want the right price not as I want to make loads of money out of him but I would like him to go to a serious home and not a dealer if the price is too low and he get passed on, does that make sense, or to someone who would teke him seriously maybe a showing or hunting home or someone who wants a seriously decent horse!
 
I may be a bit harsh but as he hasnt come out of local level (but has the potential to go above) about £4-5, maybe 6k at a push becasue it isn't proven that he does well (im sure he would do though!)

Is he related to any of her top horses?

To ask for any more, he would need to have the record of successes.

He does sound like a lovely chap tho

If he's only completed at local level and not a novice ride, I'd say £4-5K....

If he had already done county level and had good placings, then I'd say £7-8K or more...

Sounds lovely, so sorry you may have to sell...
