Cob Feather Problems

feeling like a bad mom! I try not to fuss too much over my cobs feather - gave them a wash the other day and found matted areas around his heel - so cut that away - would you recommend clipping the last bit of matted away so can start afresh? fortunately it isn't noticeable that I've had to cut them........

I only washed them a couple of weeks ago and all was fine!

Oh that's a shame if you ve cut them already - Ive found oil - pig oil or baby oil massaged into the mat and combed thru works - its a labour of love - sit on an upturned bucket - listen to a radio and comb and comb and comb..

Thanks, you cant see that I have, but for the rest of it I will try that - i use pig oil through the winter - obviously should have kept going for a bit longer!
