No tips with the mane as I gave up and just leave it wild though the longer it gets the less wild it is!
I use NAF silky detangler (white bottle with a pink label) after a wash and 2/3 times a week and brush through with one of the Le Mieux tangle tidy or HyShine Mane and Tail brush and find it really good and doesn't seem to think his tail.
His mane also grows really quickly! Hogged in June and he already has a long mane back!
