Thanks. The last cob I purchased, a traditional, was 5yo and he too changed massively at 6/7. I guess I’m just panicking how pony-like this little one is.
I have a slow growing type cob x and don’t expect him to start squaring out until he’s 7/8 currently 6 and over summer stretched out a little again and almost looked younger than he did in the spring as a result
Mine stopped growing height-wise at about 7 but he kept changing shape through muscle mass. When he hit 10 I needed to move him from 6'6 into 6'9 rugs to fit his giant shoulders in.
My old cob was the same. He was in a 5'9 when he was 5, a 6' when he was 7 and by 10 he was in a 6'3.
I didn't think mine had changed much until a video popped up on FB from last year. He was a scrawny 4yo and has definitely bulked out - I need to try his winter rugs on him
Both parents were proper cobs so I think his shoulders still have a way to go.
