Ended up with another Sec D to add to the collection!

Stunning bay gelding by Thorneyside The Terminator

Was broken to ride last year but been tuned away since September so will need re-starting.

Lovely boy & I'm VERY happy with him!

Anyone here got anything Thorneyside?

Mines called Pennal Gary. I was actually looking for a decent 3yold Sec C but couldn't find one, then his advert popped up and my YO begged me to view him

Honestly? He is bolshy, opinionated and stressy. BUT at the same time honest, bold and absolutely LOVES to please once he understands. He has his first novice NPS qualifier this weekend.... He has only been to one show locally and done a massive M&M class, and a local tiny jumping thing too, so this is a big step for him.

Congratulations, he sounds lovely. I've always thought I'd never be good enough to own and manage a sec D....you know the rep they get but I've a beautiful part bred 4 yr old sec D mare and I'm smitten. She also has clydesdale in her and she stands just over 15hh.

It's made me v interested in the breed as I love their affection and cleverness. Perfect combination. I hope you have tons of fun with your new boy. My mare is like a very old fashioned stocky type, not sure which studs still breed them like her.

I have one by Thorneyside the Magic Man, who is by Thorneyside the Boss out of Thorneyside FlyersModel.

Hes an absolute baby, total mummies boy! He he is naughty, cheeky, bolshy, grumpy, kind, loveable, really tries hard to please and loves learning! So best of both worlds I think! He can be an absolute a*se at some points and does drive me insane but I wouldnt have him any other way!

Ill try to upload some photos :)

I find Thorneyside's to be more arrogant than any other line of D. Not a fan of them.

I find that abit offensive to be honest. Two owners on this thread with Thorneyside lines and not one of them has said they are arrogant. And can I just add, majority of Thorneyside lines closely trace back to Brynymor Welsh Magic, which is actually in a lot of other Welsh D breeding, so I think you need to rethink your comment.

I have a welsh part-bred whose dam is by Thorneyside the terminator, he came from the welsh sales as a yearling, a little different but he is amazing, can do anything with him but still has the welsh spark! I will say he has a side to him that is slightly "naughty little boy" i.e can try and be a tad bolshy, when told off he will really get the hump!
What were the prices like?
