Still having trouble getting to grips with new small horsey. Thought I'd get some opinions on what I look like on him?
Also we have changed his name slightly as I kept calling him Ralphie lol..so he is Ralph/Ralphie instead of Alfie :o

He has just had his "go faster stripes " redone :D

I cannot help but feel he looks tiny here lol...I'm 5ft 11" and he is supposed to be 15.2hh!!!

You look very good on him and he takes the leg very well, would never have imagined you are 5ft11.
I was going to suggest it on your other thread but could not find it, what about some dressage lessons to get things going during the winter? It can be really satisfying.

You don't look too big on him at all. I didn't realise how tall you are until I got to the picture of you on the ground.

You look fine on him. Clip looks smart too.

Remember he is young, he's going to fill out and probably grow as well.

My cob is 6 and has grown over an inch in the last few months out of no where!

He's lovely and you don't look too big on him.
I have a similar cob...15.1hh...and in most pics he looks like a pony ☺

You don't look big on him but although the angles are not the best to get a true picture I think the saddle looks too small for you which will not be giving you a good feel when you ride you will be restricted and possibly be feeling that he is small when it is actually the saddle making you feel uncomfortable.
It is not easy to fit a saddle on a short backed horse to also suit a long legged rider but it is not impossible and I think you could do better than that one, it is amazing the difference a saddle can make to allow the rider to be more secure and thus more confident, he will probably not finish growing until next spring and that may be a good time to see if you can get something that suits you both.

You look fine, mine is 14:3hh and I'm 5'10 I look a bit tall on her but she takes my weight absolutely fine and that's the main thing :)

This is me on her (excuse the dreadfully fitted martingale, it's been adjusted since!). https://twitter.com/suzimethinks/status/652948790144573440

Ps, he looks fab, cobs are the best :)

He is gorgeous and looks so smart with his new clip! He has such a cuddly looking head.

I also agree that the saddle is too small. You could do with the cantle being one or two inches further back giving you more room, but you might struggle because I wouldn't want it sitting any further back on his loins. How many inches is your current one?

Not normally a cob fan but he is lovely, major many envy. I too didn't realise how tall you were till the photo of you on the ground with him, he takes up your leg really well as you look the perfect size on him.

This is what I noticed too but thought I was going a.bit silly.

Definitely see if you can.get saddle looked at for you

He's lovely and doesn't look remotely squished! Mine's 14hh (+ maybe a bit) but I'm not worried about squishing her and you certainly aren't squishing yours. You look just right :).

Thanks everyone. ..the mounted pics were taken when I first had him and we have a different saddle now as that one was a very poor fit for both of us.
I'm pleased that people think he doesn't look too squished bless him. I'm slowly getting over the paranoia about this....the more I ride him the less I think about it.
Also I don't think he is going to do anymore growing in any direction as he is 9 in April?

I'm usually a Thoroughbred girl myself, but I think he's gorgeous! As to how you look on him, I would never have guessed that you're so tall. You complement each other perfectly.

He's stunning. You don't look too big on him at all, as I said on one of your previous posts, takes a lot of getting used to being on a smaller horse. I'm 5ft 9 and have gone down to a 15hh and took a lot of getting used to. Better to be not so far off the ground when we get older lol :)

You actually look fine on him. Trouble is, cobs are meant to be little pocket rockets that take up the leg and carry taller people well, but I totally sympathise. I went from a 17.2hh to a 14.2hh, it is still hard to get my head round, particularly when I can see over the top of him and tacking up is a breeze!
