For whoever follows our little story, we had a super day today!

We are now putting a headcollar on the conventional way over his nose and up behind his ears without tiptoeing around, he has it put on over his regular headcollar, he then has a leadrope clipped on and is lead around with his little friends watching and trying to join in!

Today he had both front feet picked up and some motorcyclists were hurtling past and he jumped but didn't leave my husband (trust getting stronger)... so anyway today we decided to introduce myself and daughter to him ( we have taken a back seat until husband had a bond..... he refused to lead past us was snorting and untrusting, so husband clipped the leadrope on and stood with him while I walked in, head down, shoulders hunched and I stroked his neck gently and retreated... then my daughter did the same, by the end of the session I even gave him a little groom and he was happy to lead past us :-)

After all the DOWNS!! I can't believe how far he has come, I think the bond with my husband is going to be so strong :D

Tomorrow is Freddie's bday and he is going to be 2.... so pleased with the gert big monster!

For anyone battling with an untouched youngster, it's a slow slippery slope but when it starts to go right it's amazing .... stupid soppy post!

Pooing my pants for his big move next Sunday!! But we have lots of help so fingers crossed he will be OK

couldn't believe how much he has come on with OH.. havent seen him for a week or so (he's 11 miles away)... and can't believe he allowed me to groom his neck, I felt so priviledged :D:D God theses horses get under your skin!!

Good luck with the move. I hope that you take lots of photos as they always look so alert, prancy and beautiful when they are turned out for the first time in a new home. :D

Don't tell me this!! i am already worried he is going to jump out of the paddock or fall in the river or something!! I am sure the yard owner thinks I am neurotic (I am) lol... have just gone around and put miles of electric tape up as belt and braces job hehe

I will just be happier when he has travelled 11 miles safely without exploding in the box!! We are going to travel him with partitions now and tied, as think it will be safer for him,and vets are giving him sedalin, am sooooo scared!

I was in knots about moving my gelding here as he was only a yearling at the time. He travelled really well and he unloaded calmly. I turned him out with my old TB mare and I was ready with the camera to catch the prancing.... and this is what I got. ... :p

Not exactly exciting, but I was very relieved. ;)

HEHE I am the sort of person who sees scenerios in my head, I see danger, imagine the scenerios going through my head with a gert wild 15hh heavy cob in a horse trailer!! X

Yau glad to see hes doing well....what a boy!!! Fingers crossed for the move! Ive been watching to see how he geta on so let us know how it goes :-)

What a lovely post.

Happy birthday Freddie :D

Well done for all your work sounds like your getting there. :) You can't rush these things though and it's always worth it in the end. :D Good luck with the move I hope it all goes smoothly

It WILL be worth it.
It took me 6 months to get in the field with Lucy without her trying to kill me. The rest as they say is history :D
