Very excited, we managed to find a show that is held in an arena so we can do ridden classes without him tanking across the fields :D:D With quite a bit of thought and discussion we have come the conclusion that we are doing:
Best Ridden Cob/Cob Type - Open to Traditional or Show types (May be shown in natural state or hogged and trimmed).
Best In Hand Driving Type
Best InHand Cob
Best Mane and Tail :D;) (this is a fun class)

What do you think? I could swap one of the cob classes for a coloured class where we can qualify for equifest?!

Here goes...
What do I wear? I only have a tweed jacket!
What do i do in the ridden show? Ive never done ridden before
Will he be ok in just a nrmal pelham with 2 reins?
What bridle for driving and in hand?

Any other advise welcome ;) :D

Ice cream for all!

Ok so for the ridden class

Rider wears : tweed jacket, shirt and tie with a tie pin, cream, beige or canary jodphurs, long black boots, navy velvet hat with your hair in a bun and hairnet, brown gloves and cane.

Horse wears : hunter bridle with flat noseband the pelham with 2 sets of reins is perfect, saddle with no numnah or a very discrete numnah that is the same colour as the saddle and a leather girth.

For inhand class

Handler: basically the same as ridden but swap the jods and long boots for smart trousers (light ones if the horse has dark legs and dark ones if the horse has light legs but no black) and smart shoes that you can run in.

Horse: Use the same bridle as the ridden class and just take the reins over his head to lead him.

Hope that helps.

ETA this is what I do for my individual show
