Does anyone else love a chunky cob as much as i do? All i ever hear about are TB. Don't get me wrong i like most nags but no-one ever seems to rave about a cob. My boy is a chunk and has soooo much character. He is a lovely safe confidence giver but has get up and go when you want. He is brill in traffic ect. RIBENA cartons scare him. I will never understand the way his brain works.

There are plenty of people here who rave on cobs - me being one

I've got two and they certainly do have a lot of character!

I have a cob and I love him, but I also own a WBxTB and love her to bits too!!! My cob had a very stubborn streak but he seems to be growing out of that phase and is a pleasure to own!!

I'd be raving till the cows came home about a cob if I could just find one to share!!!!!!!! (did used to have a TB though, and am partial to a ISH, and warmbloods, who am I kidding I love them all!!!) I went to the Derwen stud when at Uni, and OMG beautiful, gorgeous cobs!!!

I've got one!!!!!

I must admit, some of the local "posh horse" owners do make me feel inferior...it's the way they look down on us!

I love my hoss though! She's the best!

OH GREAT i'm not alone. The one down fall is their great big feet cos boy does it hurt when they tread on you. My boy is 13 now but seems to think he is 3 but could never part with him and i do agree with patches some snobby people do look down on us. someone even asked if a cob was all i could afford....Bl..dy cheek

Oh yes, they think cobs are cheap!

The other comment I hear alot, since I've gotten more confidence to step outside of my comfort zone and try new things, is "do you think you'll outgrow Patches, move on to a better horse". The inference being that cobs are starter horses for complete eejits!

Exactly!

There is always someone who'll buy a cob, but tb's are a more limited market aren't they? People want something safe and dependable and assume cobs fit that bill.

I love cobs, the coloured in my siggy was cobby, she was a star i learnt so much with her, and people assume she was a saint, oh no she was cheekier than a lot of horses. She used to buck a lot, run off lmao, Spook on road you name it she did it, Was in no way an easy ride but i learnt a lot from her. I am one of these people that need something chunky as i dont like feeling like their is no horse underneath me.

But my god my coloured was so quirky, we was even on the pony club mounted games as she was that whippy hard to believe, people were shocked when they seen her go, and when i had lessons i always got wow shes fantastic didnt expect her to be like that. Soo much fun she was

I have a Welsh Sec D complete with feathers, tail down to the floor, long wild, un-pulled mane, ear hair sticking out and billy goats gruff whiskers!!!!

I love him to bits and everyone admires him because he is so handsome. He is a cheeky and stubborn so and so at times but that is what makes him him and I would not change it for the world.
I have always veered towards cob types and am totally smitten by the Sec D's.

YES ME! Just look below!

I sold my IDxTb, to buy a Cob!!!

I have 2 cobs and both are very different personalities, Blacks is very laid back and Bodey is a bit more sensitive, but they are both wonderful!

not my cup of tea at all! I don't really find it very comfy sitting on an xxwide saddle- rode one at uni and hated it compared to my own slimline tbx! I prefer them hogged and clipped, they look quite smart then but each to their own!
