Cobs

Depends what you compare them to. No 15hh heavyweight cob is going to reach the same top speed as, say, a 15hh TB bred to race.

But then you wouldn't find a TB able to pull the loads a cob can.

Horses for courses, as they say.

My beautiful boy Dexter jumps really big and he's a maxi cob standing at 16h, he's not the fastest boy in the yard by a long shot but he can turn out a fair enough speed when we get going. I love Cobs and any sort of hardy stocky breed :)

Our cob is certainly not slow & by heck can he jump - he loves a good puissance & usually beats the horses (he is 14hh) biggest so far has been 1.55m with a 13yr old on board!

Defo not slow either! People have their opinions though. I personally don't like TB's but that's just me & I wouldn't expect anyone to agree with me!!

My mum has a 14.2 & yes he can be very lazy, but god he can also move when he wants to. Everyone is different & like different breeds, my mum isn't keen on TB's nothing against them, but they just not her type yet I have a friend who will only have TB's nothing against other breeds, but she prefers them. :)
