sorry to ask but does anyone else know how to make this better ?? broke my coccyx years ago and never really healed properly. Is mostly ok but much worse after riding especially in my dressage saddle to the point I am now avoiding schooling and lessons and I dont really know what to do. gets better if I dont ride but this isnt really a solution !

Try different saddles, there will be one that sits you differently.

Also, as CB says, try a seat saver. Everyone who uses my Heather Moffat one loves it :D

I fell on my bum a few months ago (dismounted and just fell over backwards lol). Hurt for ages, especially in trot. If I hadn't had the seat save I wouldn't have been riding at all!

thanks - i tried sheepskin seat saver but think will try a gel one , think I too made it worse when I got off after my first post baby ride and the landing gear didnt engage as legs had gone all wobbly from the exertion, landing on my bottom on concrete from my 16.3 ! ( also think big baby shoving past wobbly coccyx didnt help - ouch )

I used to get this, all stopped a few years ago when I started riding in treeless (Solution) saddles. It used to be so bad I was on high strength prescription painkillers :( Don't take anything now :)

Sorry to sort of highjack OP :rolleyes:

Rowreach, a Solution saddle for the Dizz? The only one I'm considering now is one of the Barnsby saddles, as she seems quite happy in those (and you know what she can be like if she doesn't like something!!).
