Found myself frantically swiping my phone at 6am this morning to silence what I thought was the alarm and turned out to be one of my cockerels just outside the window. It didn't work.
I haven't read all replies, but you can get collars for cockerels to prevent them crowing, we live on the edge of a small village, several cockerels, we also have one, what wakes us up is a bluetit, knocking on the bedroom window at its own reflection, suggestions to stop it greatly received cockerels in the country are part of the background noise, small lambs also make an amazing amount of noise.
Gosh! I'm quite surprised by some of the responses!!! I live on a farm I think that means I'm not a townie.... our neighbours have one.. I asked them to shut it away as it was getting up as early as 1am in the morning I couldn't sleep with my windows open in the warm weather it was totally horrible! They were very obliging. OP cockerels are a noise nuisance in a village situation you could easily get the council involved if you wanted to.
