Cocking leg problem

OK - so I have a super lakeland terrier who is brilliant in all ways but one - the little bastard just wont stop lifting his leg over everything!!!

He's been castrated, which I didn't want to do, but even 6 months later he's being a problem. This evening he's cocked his leg over our sofa.

This can't carry on - what do we do?

Well it's a bit difficult because he doesn't do it when we are there - and as soon as we come in the room when he's done it he runs away, so we know he's done it, we just have to find where.....

Yes we've tried the nose trick - I wasn't keen, but OH had had enough, and it hasn't chnaged his behaviour at all really.

Have you tried one of those Dap defuser things - never known rubbing a dog's face in to work tbh.

The other thing is - can you crate him when you're not there?

I used to hide from my dog with a supersoaker and when he lifted his leg Id jump out and drench him.

I'd love to hope this would work - but I just know he'd think it was the best game yet!!
