Im puppy sitting today til tomorrow for my sisters dobermann bitch pup who will be 14 weeks old tomorrow.

My sister got her from the breeder on friday so already 13weeks old.

Obviously the most unfortunate part of that is she has completely bypassed the first fear socialisation period. She seemed very bold at the breeders house but was very timid when she got home and was terrifed of any noises etc and would cower and run as far away as poss from anything unexpected.

Im pleased to say shes coming right out of her shell and has put her big girl pants on and is trying to man up a bit!

She is by far the easiest puppy ive came across - she takes herself outside to the toilet already, if the door isnt open she will whine at it til you take her out. She sleeps all night long - from 10pm til 7am. And to top it off ive taught her to sit in less than 3mins today!!

Will try and get photo of her up when im not using my phone :)

Some dobes can be sound sensitive, can be lack of socialisation or can be genetic, there are some quite 'high' lines coming in from Eastern Europe which look amazing/flashy but can be quite skittish. She sounds lovely, would love to see a photo.

Sire was in your face friendly, dam slightly more reserved but happy to greet us and check we were ok to meet her babies! Litter is tightly linebred, UK breeding. She was socialized well within the breeders home - the litter, 4 adult dobes, 2 cats and 2 young children! But that was her world and she knew nothing else til a few days ago so its not suprising she is a bit overwhelmed!

She weighs 8.4kg and stands at 16"

Will get on the computer and add a pic :)

She is currently having the most fun I've seen her have - 'killing' a puppy teddy that I dug out from the dog cupboard!

Sorry the pics are rubbish...they were taken on my new phone which I simply cannot seem to get the settings right on - and the little bugger kept moving lol

Here she is

What a beauty, never had a Dobe puppy just young rescues only one who is a girl. Our Darcy is indeed very intelligent and can out think her brother but the lancashire Heeler is a match for her. Darcy is incredibley gentle and was fear aggressive when we had her first but she is mostly over that.

Coco is very young and in a strange place she is bound to be a bit reserved, make sure she gets lots of socialisation especially with other dogs as they are known for dog aggression. Lucky you.:)

Thanks papafrita :)

Dobiegirl, she's a sweetheart and is actually a whole lot more outgoing at my house than she's been at my sisters :/ she's really not very reserved here at all and she only arrived this morning lol

I've told my sister she needs to expose her to as much as poss now, which she's doing - though I have a feeling she may worry about coco a little much which could be why coco is more reserved around her.

She is lovely, and smart to, I've just had 3 nights sleep in a row from Eddie the Beagle and he is 22 weeks, YEAH, I think he has it. Still wont ask to go out though, have to watch him like a hawk indoors.
