Somebody recommended it to us for one of ours but I am always a little wary. Just wondered whether it was another new craze like turmeric & micklem bridles

I use it for one of mine as he suffers from skin problems, linseed was my first choice but he reacted badly to that so we went with coconut instead, his skin is a lot better for being on it, he shines even though he is white. The Copra did add a little too much weight (surprising as he has always been a sod to get weight on) so its been reduced back a bit!
The youngster is on it for his coat, he hasnt been clipped and gets minimal grooming but his coat looks fab
Iv fed it for over a year now and im still feeding it to my boy. I actually use it for a few things, like as a mane and tail conditioner, used it on an old stiff bridle once to nourish it with good results and at the same time soften my hands
Yes; I feed Coolstance. My oldie was losing weight fast, (usually a good doer) so started him on this. Picked up considerably within a couple of weeks. It's non heating too. Its a good source of anti inflammatory oil/Omega 3. I have to watch what I feed my boy as his legs/sheath swell on grass and even too much hay - but hasn't happened with feeding this so I'm impressed! Might possibly be a new craze (I'm not very convinced about tumeric and not one to follow crazes) but its doing my horse good for sure.
Make sure you feed unrefined coconut oil, not the refined stuff which you can get cheap from tesco. The refined version is great for cooking but has a lot of the goodness and therefore benefits taken out of it. Unrefined is a lot more expensive but worth it, you can buy it in bulk off amazon.
