Coincidence or not?

Just wondered if this has ever happened to any breeders before.
In 2008 we bred a filly foal born on 23rd may a year later to the same mare we had a colt foal also born on the 23rd May!

I think it can happen quite often if you breed back to the mare on her first season after the first foal!? (Either that or the mare likes to keep to routine?!!)

we missed her first season as she didn't want to know

and we didn't think we were actually going to get her covered last year as she was very foal proud....he wasn't actually due that date..it just seemed like our mare had planned it....lol... not surprising really as she an awkward sort...twice we have missed her foaling as she waits till we leave!!!

We bred from our mare as a 4 year old, the colt was born on her birthday - May 23rd! He'd arrived about 10 days early! The mare then had a very successfull showjumping career before we bred from her again aged 15, the filly was born on the 23rd May, 2 weeks early!!!!

Yours born the 23rd of may too!!! maybe is something to do with the date

Good date its my son Max's birthday, so I had a colt on the 23rd May too!!!! LOL
