Axel has been on Equine America's Magnitude for about a year now (I'm on my 2nd tub) he has been amazingly quiet and non spooky this whole time, my schooling and dressage have improved loads and all is going well, until this week....

On monday I ran out of Magnitude and didn't bother getting anymore as I wasn't sure if it worked or not!
Tuesday he had a day off,
On wednesday I went in the school and he was a bloody nightmare he wouldn't go down one end of the school, he started this mad twirling thing and was spooking and generally being a bit wild.
Thursday he was exactly the same, I turned him out after riding and he galloped off bucking, when I brought him in I had to put the rope over his nose as he was being so silly.
I went and bought some more Magnitude and gave him 2 scoops in his evening feed and another 2 in his morning feed.
Today I went in the school and he was fine, no spooking, he didn't care about the scary corner and he was listening and 100% better although still had a lot of energy! No mad twirling tho!!!

Will be interesting to see if he goes back to being nice quiet well behaved Axel after going back on the Magnitude but if he does then I'd say that was the best calmer you could buy!

I hope it's the lack of calmer anyway......

I'd have thought it would take a lot longer than 2 days before the effect wore off, but I don't know that much about the effects of magnesium.
He wasn't quite back to 'normal' today but still tons better than before.
I'll see what he's like tomorrow I'm going to a competition too so it will be a good test lol!!

I use Magnitude, it doesn't work on my TB but have had my new one on it just to take the edge off and help him settle into his new home.

I didn't give him any for a couple of days last week and he showed signs of clingyness, put him back on it and the next day he was fine.

So in answer to your question, IMO, yes it really is that good!

It must be amazing because Axel was practically unrideable this week! He's normally fab in the school when he's on it

Quite worrying in a way if that's what he's really like without being on anything!

i would get some more of that stuff down his neck then lol.
Have you tried others, mine is on the top spec calmer which is magnesium based also. it is a fair bit expensive than your stuff, just wondering if i should perhaps give it a go. I may have seeen it in our feed place but not paid much attention to it, the label looks familia though.

Spike was on this when we were at your yard and when we moved we stopped it however we certainly noticed a difference and I think he is now back onit again. So yes it probably is the calmer having some good effect. Looks like we have finally found one that works :-)
Would be intersting to get our grass / soil tested to see if it does have a lack of magnesium ( I assume thats how it works and why it works for some and not others!!! )
