Teddy the skinny TB I bought has been shod this week, ready to start gentle work to build up some muscle. I had the saddle fitted (narrow, high withered) and did not show any back problems when checked by the vet when we first got him 9 weeks ago.
Anyway, when I first get on he does this odd movement, like a cat hunching his back, a few steps forward and he relaxes. Thats it, no other symptoms, but I have only walked and trotted him around.
When we first got him he did have a six inch saddle sore (If you dont remember Ted have a look at the pics on my profile) which has completely healed.
He is not insured for vets bills.
I realise that he may just be thinking of the pain he used to get when ridden, and I may have scared myself by investigating the symptoms on the internet.
Any thoughts?
