Any physios on here today? I have a horse with scar tissue in the tendon above his knee and thin fluid around that and on the knee. A physio I used a while ago before it was healed treated it with cold laser (infra-red light) and it reacted badly, swelling a lot. But now it has completely gone cold I want to try cold laser again as it has a good record in clinical trials on exactly the two issues that I have to deal with. There is no restriction on his movement and he is hunting happily on it, I just want to remove as much of the horrific blemish he is left with as possible over the next year while it consolidates.
My OH has made me a cold laser machine with medical grade diodes, and I have done a bit of googling which suggests daily application for around a minute in each spot. Can anyone tell me if it's safe to do more time than that,and/or more often, and even if it's safe will it actually do any more than using it once a day?
I have used it once so far and I would say the the fluid filling is "looser" than it was yesterday evening, so fingers crossed.
Thanks anyone who can help.
