Anyone tired these?
Want something that’s better than kibble and cold pressed seems better?
And insect protein seems better for the environment

I use Rocco from zooplus.ie for real meat cooked wet dog food cans. They have a huge selection of ‘real protein’ animal foods, rather than the ’protein derivatives’ most grain-based food include.

I think rocco also do round large pressed real meat sausage-shape meals in plastic wrapping.

My huskyXGSD as a pup was allergic to either colourings or the grain from kibble, so switched to grain-free and that worked wonders for her. No runny nose, itching etc. She’s 12 now and doing well health-wise. I get grain-free kibble too, so she’s on both wet and dry.…for variety for her mainly.

Insect protein is popular now isnt it? Never tried it, but my cat loves eating spiders so little critters are obviously tasty to them! 😂

Mine tried insect protein kibble at dogfest a few years sgo and wouldn't touch it, they aren't fussy dogs so it's not something I'd feed personally.

Currently feeding the elderly whippet Walker and Drake Ocean fish and really happy with it so far. He had an awful couple of weeks with badly upset tum and this seems to be the answer. He scoffs it and the output is back to a normal solid. He can’t tolerate over 10-12% fat, anything with pea protein and isn’t a fan of salmon. He’d been on Angell Sensitive for about 10 years and then they added in the pea protein so pretty relieved to find an alternative!

My fussy old setter has Wolfworthy, which is the only dry dog food he will consider eating. He doesn't eat enough if it to keep himself alive, so he has Burns Lamb,Carrot and brown Rice wet food as well

I swap between Markus Muhule and Lukullus on Zooplus for breakfast (whichever is on offer, but always the premuim, higher meat option), they have raw for tea.
I like zoo plus advertising its food per kg, so much more comprehensible. But I can’t find ingredients for the lukullus. I know I’m being incompetent but I’m just trotting in loops and getting nowhere, please help! 😄

I know this is an old thread. But have been wondering about trailing insect based diet for Daisy, as quite frankly she's not looking great. Yeast infections, chewing her paws and her coat is not great.

So are more members now feeding an insect based diet?

Have you tried anything odd, like kangaroo? And you’ve said before your OH shares his food with her, there’s no point shelling out on posh food and feeding her human stuff on the side.

Have a look at the Sport Dog Nutrition Facebook page. Holly who runs it is amazing, so much knowledge and there is a search button that you can use to see what she has put about yeast infections.

Second this. Holly is very knowledgeable and the page is so helpful. Advice from there gave us an extra 18 months with our old boy when he had kidney disease.

My lot get Brit Care chicken & insect kibble at the moment, all three looking good on it. I used to feed them GreenPet Insect Sensitive before and they were also fine with that, but I couldn't always source it, so switched.
No issues with them eating it and a whole host of dogs at dog club are quite happy to try and climb into my pockets for some given half a chance.

I know the thread has taken a turn, but I had to switch to Cavom (still cold-pressed) as Zooplus could no longer deliver MM, thanks Brexit, and I may have to switch to DUCK if the same happens with Cavom.

Can a UK based company deliver to you? I switched to Wilsons about 6 months ago and my dogs are all doing well on their cold pressed working food. They do multi bag deals and have a points scheme which meant £30 off my latest delivery.
