There was a very sad tale on my local Facebook group from a vet practice.
Someone had bought a nice young horse which was progressing well, for 6 months or so when it developed colic. The vet gave the appropriate treatment but the horse continued to be in pain and so was PTS. When they did the PM there was found an impactation, the cause of which was a small piece of netwrap which food had got wrapped in to form a solid mass.
The owners didn't feed anything with netwrap, so this had been inside the horse for a considerable amount of time.
So the warning is to make sure that every piece of netwrap should be removed before feeding. Even the vet was surprised that the horse had eaten it, when considering how picky they can be. Nasty end for the unfortunate horse.
