Had the vet out last night as my mare was showing signs of colic - not interested, standing around, looked unwell, curling lip..........vet give her a shot and said she should be fine as she passed a pooh.
Went to muck her out this morning and she was really clean, just one sign of a wee but she was picking hay, tied her up and she passed a pooh (thank god), she was still off her hard feed this morning, came back about 2hrs later and still a relativly clean bed but she seemed more herself and was eating hay and ate her feed.
Going to chk her again in a bit and hopefully find a dirty stable, do you think its worth calling the vet again if she hasnt passed a pooh (last time i seen was around 1030am) she does look perkier and is eating.........am worried

i'd limit her feed until there's more poos coming through. just the odd big handful of hay, for e.g.
of course, if she had nothing to eat overnight, there might not be much coming through... did she eat plenty yesterday up until she looked colicky?
i'd probably call the vet and ask the question. have a listen for gut sounds, if it's all completely silent, this is more worrying than if there's some of the usual gurgling etc going on.

Just got back now after checking her and theres 3 poohs in her stable, she was munching hay and got excited when she saw her dinner, shes much much brighter now and looks like shes feeling well again. Phew.......
Thank you everyone who replied

Really glad to hear this, I had a little colic scare the other night so know how you feel :-)

One thing to add: sounds like she is in at the moment (understandably given the weather...) but walking can help so if there is anywhere safe and snowy (not icy) or an indoor arena she can go in for a little leg stretch that might be good.
