Vet bill came through yesterday, £2,180 for a week care, I nearly fell off my chair. Hope NFU pay out. That's another worry as well, get them home and then the bill comes through the letter box. Funny enough another person I know had colic last night. Just down the road from me. Luckily her lad was sorted out pretty quickly and was fully recovered in a few hours. Its a horrible horrible thing for a horse to have and owner too. I was worried yesterday when I turned him out as it looked as if he had been rolling in his stable as I could see the rubber matting where the straw had been moved but, I think that I am just looking for any possible signs of distress. xx

How much of that was keep and how much nursing? may be worth asking the vet to split it if nursing is included as you normally only pay for 50% of the keep. NFU are pretty good so fingers crossed it allgoes through for you

OP I am so pleased to hear Spirit is doing well, having lost my beloved mare to colic, I completely empathise. Some one once posted on here a comment saying 'colic is evil',it is, I have never forgotten that short and simple comment.
Such great news, I hope spirit continues to improve xx
