In 45 years of horse ownership and a few months ago was my first experience of colic in a horse I owned have seen it in others He had chewed a lump of tail hair and swallowed it He rolled and was in pain for about 2 hours called the vet but by the time they got there he was pretty much better he had a few injections and I kept an eye on him, surgery was never an option just as well he was happily grazing by the time the vet got there or he would have been PTS colic is the one thing I have no doubts about I simply don't think surgery is right I know many will have the opposite view but at the moment it is not something I would even consider
