Hopefully we have averted a colic crisis this evening. Having spoken with the vet, Carlo has had 2 bute, been for a walk & is now standing quietly in his box. I have taken his hay away and will check him once more before bed & again in the night. But what about tomorrow? Assuming he is okay should I put him back on his usual soaked hay? Could he be turned out onto grass (where he has been for 4 days) or paddock with no grass? when can I re-introduce a little excercise?

He's not done this to me before so I am having a confidence melt down.

Any night owls with some wise words?

If this was to happen again try feeding a bran mash 3-4x a day. Can be mixed with chopped apples or carrots if he isnt keen. Good to here he's better!

For me, keep in tonight & turnout tomorrow. The question is which paddock? Grass paddock if it's not lush. You need to keep gut mobility so forage is essential - so either grass or hay.
