Well he was in around 4 1/2 hours, I haven't yet had the details as to if they had to cut anything away or not I just know the problem was in the caecum. He didn't recover very well and struggled to stand. He ended up getting his leg over his neck and now they think he has damaged his neck, but can't assess too much yet as its too early.

He has managed to get to his feet so thats a good sign hopefully. Will know more by the end of today hopefully.

Would appreicate any HHO vibes please

My vets told me that if my Shire x Tb made it to 48hrs post surgery, and was willing to eat again, then the outlook was usually positive.
Glad he came through surgery.

He is at Avondale in Banbury with Chris Colles.

The latest is that he has sustained an injury to his neck just behind his poll when he tried to stand after the op. Because of this he is still in the recovery room. They are unable to do an x ray until they can headcollar him. Until he has the x ray we don't know if it is just ligament damage or if he's broken some vertebrae. Looks like its Monday pm or Tuesday at the earliest.

He has eaten some hay and had his meds in some feed so those signs are really positive, we just wont know about his neck until we can do the x ray.

I know he's in the best possible hands.
Keep the vibes coming our way please

Keeping everything X`d for him.
Have you got a photo of him you can post please and what is his name. I ask because its easier to send vibes when you know who and where they are going to.

He has taught both my son and daughter everything they know, they are both onto horses now which is why Toy went out on loan. We've had him since he was 3 and he's now 10yo

What a horrible wait for you

Thinking of you and hoping a speedy recovery - everything crossed that when he's xrayed it's ligament rather than fracture

What a pretty boy. Everything crossed that he hasn't done something nasty and makes a good and speedy recovery. What a horrible time for you.
