you get the picture?!!? I've not had the vet out 5 times in the last 2 months!
So I have a 27yr old mare whose had spasmodic colic twice in the last month, this is something she seems to do every year!
And my 2yr old came in scratched up about 2 months ago with a swollen hock! The vet gave a steroid injection and some anti b's, it went down a bit but when they were out a week later for vaccinations the vet gave me steroids. He was on 20 a day every other day, 5 times then 50 a day every day for 20 days, hes been on them for 8 days and theres been no change!
just had the vet for colic and she said it sounds like he needs a scan if the steroids are not working!
has anyone else had a scan and has it made any difference? my friend had one of her 4yr old and they said he had a damaged tendon sheaf but i don't believe theres any treatment and his hock is still swollen, so not sure what to do!
I don't have vet fees on my insurance for him.
