During the week my horse has her breakfast at 6am and dinner at 7.30pm (work dictates these hours)

Weekends she has it at 8am and 4pm.

This week I have had off so I have used the weekend feeding routine.

I have also recently changed her feed, from sugar beet pulp and nuts, to mix and nuts, removing the SB immediately.

She has also just been turned out to her new field with lots of juicy green grass.

She gets exercised at the weekends and twice a week.

Today she was kicking her belly and has the runs.....

I have looked up symptoms of colic and fear she might have it!

I would get the vet out or at least give them a ring for advice.

Hope you're wrong though

monitor her carefully and regularly, could just be a bit gassy rather than serious colic, i would remove feed for at least the next few hours until she is totally settled. if she shows signs of worsening - sweating up/trying to roll or gets distressed call vet asap. as above if you;re worried ring vet for advice

I'm not being funny but if your horse has colic - or if you suspect colic - what on earth are you doing on HHO?>?? You should be with her making sure she's ok - And speak with your vet to ask for advice - Colic is not to be ignored - There are a few "eek" moments in your post - first that you've changed two things in her feeds with no gradual progression and secondly putting her out on lush grass - either can bring on colic.

Ide definitely phone the vet & get them out to check her asap!! I don’t want to frighten you but its better to be safe than sorry & if you suspect colic phone them now!

As H's Mum and others have said, please ring the vet. It sounds like too much grass colic - a bit like having two Christmas dinners, plus the fact you have changed her feed. Dont give her any more hard feed and wait for the vet.

Please let us know how she is?

Just been to see her - she is absolutely fine. Sleeping like a baby when I got to her. No more runny poos either!

She was kicking her belly only a few times earlier today which is why I was confused. I am a new horse owner! Mind you as she was brought in this morning at 8am I am sure something would have happened by now if it was going to.

Thanks for caring guys xx

Phew !! Thats a relief.
Maybe the runny poo was due to lush grass?
I know when the spring grass came through our horses poo resembled cowpats for a week or so
