I think my ned had a bit of colic tonight. After she had her dinner she started behaving a bit odd and then rather voilently lay down and started to roll, I pulled her up but she went down again. I got her up and walked her while she was still trying to roll I manged to keep her walking. After 5 mins or so she seemed more comfortable and had stopped trying to go down. I got the YO who agreed that she now looked fine, phoned the on call vet who said if she had stopped showing symptoms it was prob just gas. I kept an eye on her for about an hour and she reamined fine so I but her back out and reluctantly went home. I am however still worried about her can colic pass so quickly? Prob wont get much sleep tonight.

Mmmm - I know I would be worried too but I'm sure she will be fine if she stopped showing symptoms.
My horse did that to me a few years ago. He was fine but it didn't stop be going up to the yard at 5am to check!
Did she show any signs of choke? Like arching her neck etc. That can make the horse inclined to roll too but can pass really quickly once the blockage is clear.
Hope everything is ok anyway - try not to worry although I know you will!

Before she lay down she was acting a bit odd she didnt arch her neck but she did put her head right down and open her mouth it looked like she was trying to spit something out!! Have seen a horse with choke before and it looked different but she is a bit of a strange beastie at times. I sense an early morning before work yard visit coming on.

My pony used to go down in the field and then just put his front legs up and move back and forward rubbing his belly !! Never had colic but everytime I moved to a new yard I would get a phone call from a worried yard owner thinking he had colic.

Unfortunately it is the horrible time of year where colic is more common.

Depending on the type of colic and its severity, sometimes just walking them can help ease the pain, I generally try a minimum of 20 minutes but all depends on the individual horse and how quickly they become more comfortable. If your girl was just having a very mild bout, the walking could help shift the pocket of gas (if this was the cause). I hope she is o.k in the morning.
