My horse has Colitis as confirmed by the vet yesterday and has been put on a course of antibiotics. However the behaviour she has displayed and the symptoms have been noticed by me every year she has come in for winter and it lasts all winter.
Vet is happy with her diet (Hay, hi Fibre nuts, Alfa A oil and Garlic, with 8hrs of turnout a day) She cannot stay out all winter as everything will be coming in and she seems to be pretty relaxed in her stable.
I am anxious to find something I can feed her that will help control the Colitis if she is prone to it. Does anyone have experience of this and have something they use that works? Vet has said to find something with Charcole as the active ingredient? But looking for a suppliment that is aimed at the colon / colitis is proving impossible and I don't want to have to get the vet out every year when she comes in at night!
Help!!!
