Poor little guy......I noticed tonight that when he was trying to pee only a small trickle was coming out rather than the normal flood, 10 mins later same again.

Subjected him to the search for the bean and found nothing so called my Vet, Vardi obviously realizing vet was on his way decided to make a proper job of it went down rolled and sweated up a treat.

Vet arrived as I was walking him around in the pouring rain gave him a through internal exam and an injection saying mild dose of colic.

He is in a stable tonight with flax on the floor only (no straw) and no food till tomorrow.

Happy to report we have now had an almost normal pee (yay!) and are looking totally grumpy at everyone else getting hay and having to go without.

Have spent a very uncomfortable 6 hours sitting on mounting block in sir's stable especially as all he wanted was his backside scratched.

Decided he was feeling ok when he kept taking my book out of my hands and chucking it out of the stable in a kind of "Oi I am ill you know and demand 100% attention"

Very tired but not sleepy in a strange way! Jan has strict instructions to call me tonight if anything goes awry.

Fingers crossed the phone will not ring.

Horrible to have him not well but strangely really nice to spend so long just being with him doing nothing......note to self do it more often!

its nice to hear that he is ok

We had one last night with a rumbling tummy ache. Thankfully a walk and spending the night in a stable with an outdoor pen to walk around seem to do the trick..

Think it must be the change in grass causing gassy bellies

We had one Monday night. Very mild and got over it on her own, but uncomfortable for a few hours. I think you are right about the grass.

Zippo - sorry to hear that....RIP and <<hugs>>> for you!

I saw it coming as we have a large amount of horses on our yard and my beastie is colicky at the best of times so took the precaution and put his mask on in the field...
The grass has changed due to all this rain me thinks - its also not helped by how humid it is round here...

ChavHorse - i tend to find sticking mine on the end of the lunge normally really helps too!
