My border collie (now 9mnths old) had a 2/10 lameness in his front left leg when he was really tiny. After pathetically attempting to keep a young border collie calm and not running around like a nutter on it, it calmed down and stopped.
Recently when we play fetch or anything like that he often over runs the ball, which then results in an attempted emergency stop. He then falls over (like the big clutz he is) and gets the ball.
however I have noticed its 9/10 the front left leg he falls on..... is this normal that collies a) fall when overshooting a ball or an object when playing and b) is it normal for them to have a slightly less strong leg or whatever it is?
I have flexed joint and palpated for any abnormalities. The only thing that has really affected that leg between him being tiny and now is that that is the leg that I pulled his 1 and only (so far) tick off, off the inside of the armpit on his left leg.....
Any ideas? or am I being an over observent stressy mummy?
If anyone thinks I should go see my vet thats fine, just I am currently having issues with them, so any other opinions or do we think this is the only way?
Thank you!
