Is anyone else's collie destructive when staying away at someone else's house? Last time Tan chewed anything it was at the beginning of the year when he ate one of my Mum's stuffed toy door stops, at the time I thought he got it confused with one of his toys (he always has stuffed toys) but now he has eaten my sisters school shoes?

Will be back later - off to replace aforementioned shoes!

When I first got my Collie I left her at my Gran's house for the afternoon (was an unavoidable family engagement) - she ate the blinds!!

She would go anywhere with me but when I left she got upset. So I had to do lots of practise sessions with other people in a house before I could leave her anywhere but home!! Did get there with a few key places so I had people to look after her when I couldn't but it took a good while!

Cheers for that, I will see if I can convince a couple of friends to help out! Problem is we only get back to Mum's house once or twice a year, and it's annoying when he does stuff like this as he is normally so good! He's also nearly 5 so should know better LOL

Ha ha 5years - just a whipper snapper. Mine was only caught out doing naughty things (like sitting on the sofa without permission) when she went deaf at 13yrs! If it helps she never forgot where she felt safe. I used to live in Cumbria and the friend there that looked after her were never forgotten. I could go back after a year and she would remember that it was a safe place!
