do they naturally herd things?


my rabbit just escaped and my dog (who, from what i know, has never herding things before) rounded it up right in front of my eyes!

yes! my dog would never run too far as she always had to run back to herd us all together as we didnt walk quick enough for her

Goodness me yes! people, dogs, cats (have you ever tried herding cats??!!!) and chickens!

My two will try and herd the horses & cows if I let them. I sometimes let them have a play with Bash in the arena. Otherwise they don't try herding anything of their own accord. They're given enough mental stimulation that they don't feel the need to herd everything. At the end of the day, their herding abilities is irrelevant as they are flyball dogs, not sheepdogs but they are both brilliant collies.

Yep they herd and thank goodness. I'm a dog walker and she herds everyone back when I need them!
