Colour experts - dun and buckskin?

I'm another ignoramus who, until only about a year or so ago, thought Buckskin was an American term for Dun. And I'm finding it hard after so many years around horses to call them anything but Dun. Then again, when I was a child riding, you had piebalds (black and white) and skewbalds (any other colour and white) and it's taken me enough years already to get my head around calling them "coloured" (or whatever other variation their particular colour is now called). It's not that I object to any of the name changes, I think I'm just a bit set in my ways:-)

Aww thankyou SP.....he's a year older now (6) and has filled out more. I have just sorted out a saddle for him that I can get my bum into and I'm going to show him this year. He's actually daughters pony but I want to pinch him.....he's only 13.3hh but I don't think I look too stupid on him- I will ask OH to take a pick :eek:

Be careful, I started out trying to write a list of all the colours of the horse with desription and now I am getting into missense mutations. It is addictive lol.

Just looked at the colour chart and foal possibilities on the double dilute website. Now considering the possibility of finding her a nice buckskin stallion.......

Really, I have enough horses, don't I???? :D :D :D
