My rising 2 year old filly has been a palomino colour from birth albeit quite pale in winter with a white mane and tail. This year her mane is growing out much darker so I don't think she can be classed as palomino now. Her dam is grey and sire is a silver dapple buckskin.110263

When palos go grey they often go through darker colour stages.

Do you have some whole body inc tail pics? As silver buckskin also a poss
Or sooty

Sorry no pics of her tail it's pretty pooey at the mo so would need a wash for the true colour to show

Oh well that was worth it for the foaly pic regardless

given her ears I think she’s the same as dad. Who is very nice 😅 to clarify by ears I mean her darker tips/rims
Thank you I had hoped that was the way she was going but she doesn't have black points on her legs like her sire ( buckskin colouring), Is that something that would come with age or is she just an unusual colour?

This is really fascinating. I hope you keep us updated with any colour changes. I love her sire and grandsire. I think grandsire is silver dapple too? Do you know what her dam's genetic colour is?

Oh and I love your filly too, she looks like a proper tank with such a pretty head, like her sire (can't see mum's head!)

Thank you yes she's already a tank nearly 15hh and 2 in April. Dam looks very Irish Draughty to me ( I used to breed them) but sadly has no recorded breeding. No idea what her original colour was before she greyed out but she was already light grey at 5 years old.

That's really interesting thank you for replying. Certainly makes a change from my usual bays and piebalds. That's the grandsire btw on sires side
She looks lovely, it will be interesting to see what colour she turns out! Mine has a silver dapple bay sire and a dun dam but is determinedly dark brown with slightly cream inner legs!! Although I sort of wanted him to change colour to something fancy like yours I keep telling myself that at least he doesn’t show poo stains! 😆

She's just been a, grotbag all winter has hair like a,yak and being young I don't rug her so has been poo stained since November. Dark brown a, better option for 9 months of the year 😁
