Colour Genetic experts please!

Hi all,

Just a quick question re colour on my Bay filly.

I have owned her since she was 8 months old, she is now 3 years old. She always has this funny lighter/white fluffy patch of hair on her tummy but it tends to disappear around summer time as she gets her summer coat but this year it seems to have spread to her left hind now?! Im curious, is she likely to get anymore, I suppose roaning?

She is also getting white hairs in her mane and tail......any ideas?!

It's not the true Roan gene as she'd have been born a bay roan and stayed a bay roan.

As her socks have jagged edges - especially the off hind that goes up the back of the fetlock - I would expect her to have some form of the sabino gene which can cause 'roaning'. The coming and going of the roaning is unusual, but sabino is a complicated gene and not fully understood, so it is a strong possibility.
