Posting on behalf of a friend who has a grey mare. for the top part of the pedigree her sire was a dark cream (looks like a palomino to give an idea of the actual shade) his sire is chestnut and dam cream. next generation back for the sire has 2 chestnuts a grey and a dun. next back has 4 chestnuts 2 greys one cream and one dun. On her dam side the first 3 generations are all grey and 4th generation has 7 greys and one bay. question is what colour stallion has the highest probability of breeding out the grey? she is well aware that its not going to be easy but is interested in trying. all the colours come from the pedigree so she cannot say what the original colours were but if it helps some were dark grey
