Thank you guys, his passport said that he is a grey roan and I was told that roans can be classed as coloured but I always thought it was just skewbald and piebalds.
Sorry for being such a pain
He looks grey not roan to me I think roans are only put in with coloureds at local level showing, I am not up on higher level showing rules for coloured horses you would have to look on the website of the show you want to do or look on the bspa website.
To be considered 'coloured' the horse needs to have at least one white patch above the legs/belly. Your horse is lovely OP and should do well in PBA classes, and others such as Riding Horse and maybe WH, if you jump.
No, hes not coloured. Roans can only go in coloured classes at some local shows, occassionaly there is also an "odd coloured" class at local shows for duns, pallys and roans.
His really lovely I thought he looked like he had some Arab there, he can do PBA classes or some local shows do part bred classes, if you want to do showing at a higher level he has to have a minimum percentage of Arab to compete in PBA and have his passport stamped by the Arab horse society, what are your plans for him?
He’s 3/4 Arab, he arrived in terrible condition (see photo), so last year was mainly getting his weight back up and this year we’re focusing on showing, his mum is a FEI jumper, and his father is a 3* eventer. Planning on mainly dressage and showing this year, he won best in show inhand last year so hoping we can get in the ridden classes this year 😃
Bless him he looks much better now well done, if his parents were registered with the AHS and named on his passport you should be able to get it stamped.
