Coloured performance stallions

I absolutely adore Dexters Puzzle and Sambertino. I was seriously considering Sambertino but as a maiden mare and its frozen semen we decided against it.

Maybe next year!

Axels dam is on loan to Pferde stud to be put into foal by Albany, his 1/2 sister is also there, and her foal by Greenbank Harlequin, Harlequince is going to be standing at stud there too

Argh dont tell me that. Wasnt going to put Millie in foal till next year as she wont be due to foal this year till late due to her deciding to be awkward.

I love Sambertino and have been oggling him for ages and ages.

Mind you I am STILL tempted to buy a nice Knapstrubber (sp?) foaly but I am not sure how to hide it from OH.

Will be keeping an eye on your babies for next year then.

I second Utah, he is fab but I am being biased though as I used to look after him.
He has got a fab temperment , looks stunning and tries his heart out on anything that you ask of him.

I second the vote for Goshka Ringo! He is a good looking horse, who is solidly, yet gracefully built. He is a little upright IMO, but he moves very well and is totally soppy and huggable. Every youngster I have seen by him, no matter the type of mare that they are out of (his mares seem to range from native ponies, to WB's, TB's, cobs, hunters pretty much everything), seem to be better than he himself is - does that make sense. He just seems to reproduce better than himself!

I have a Welsh D x coloured gelding from Lucky Dealer (British Sporthorse stallion -he's advertised on Adhorse's Stallions Online). Not homozygous but does throw a high % of coloured foals. Fantastic laid back temperament and good conformation

Also about the % of coloured foals to solid - it is only possible for a stallion to throw 100% (homozygous) or 50% (hetrozygous)! None of this 80% or whatever you see advertised. Yes those stallions may have that as the percentage of coloureds they have on the ground, but each mating has a 50% chance of throwing you a coloured. It's just the luck of the draw that has given those stallions these percentages on the ground.

My cob mare has just been AI'd by Lostock Huntsman. I loved him when I saw him, such a gent. Fab movement and generally a lovely horse and the stud was fab, they really impressed me with their willingness to help us on such short notice. I would really recommend him.

Have you had a good look at their website? You will lots of pics of foals by him out of traditional cob mares and they are not big and blocky at all, but quite graceful IMO. Though I do understand your concern. If you go and buy the current edition of the magazine 'Horse Deals', you will find LOADS of adverts for coloured stallions in that particular one - I was looking at it the other day and a couple of the WB's in there were being advertised at homozygous for colour and were of a lighter type to Ringo - though they had little if any youngstock on the ground and were themselves un-proven as competition horses.

Go for Festivo from the Goshka stud, I think he is absolutely STUNNING, and lighter than Ringo....

Yes I was incredibly taken with him - a very gracefull horse and beautifully bred too.
