Two Sleeps till the Middleham Stables Open Day we have had these Limited Edition Stickers, only available from us on the day to celebrate Angrove rumbaba being the first coloured horse to be trained at Middleham first come first served
Rummy is now Galloping on the High Moor in Middleham not long now till he races

There is more to it than just loading him up and ferrying him off to the races!
Good luck Angrove. I shall look forward to the day I see Rummy on the tv belting past the post!

I do realise that ! He was going to race as a 2 year old, then a 3 year old, then going hurdling .....it's beginning to look like a gimmick and I for one don't think we will see a coloured horse racing in this country.

Ah think what you please.
Racing isnt a science and things can change.
I shall still reserve my seat by the television forhis first televised race,

I take it you are a friend ? So why hasn't he run ? It's easy to keep saying here's my horse in training ...but a bit pointless calling him a racehorse as he's never been in a race.

Just someone who has always taken an interest in a fairly unique horse.....along with many others!
He is one of the first of his kind, and as such, yes he holds my attention and affection.
Angrove may well be able to answer your questions, but ultimately the horse is not a machine.
He is a racehorse however. Just one that has yet to race.;)

He's not a racehorse ....that implies a horse that has raced. Any horse can go up gallops, a racehorse has run against other horses on a track !
This has been going on for ages and I'm sure alot of people would like to see a coloured horse racing, for novelty reasons if nothing else but until it happens constantly saying here's my coloured racehorse is gimmicky and just not true.

Hello Bonny I dont call starting a syndicate with over 15 people in it a gimmick!
Rummy went into race training as a two year old, a week before his first race he developed a shore shin and that was November 2010,he re started his flat career in the Jan 2011 and we got to April the 4th and we were told he was to slow to be a flat horse thats fair enough.

As his dad is not a racehorse we had hoped he might be able to run on the flat as its somewhat safer! we do care what happens to him, so we sent him to a Proper National Hunt trainer to be evaluated may 2011, we paid for this not the syndicate!
we were told he was not Fit! he was teething and he was weak and needed to finish growing so he came home in May until the end of January this year 2012 when he went into pre Training and then on to full training, we have two dates for him to race But this imformation is for the people who pay to here it! It will be announced after the open day.
hope this clears up your doubts
Thank you to everyone for showing such faith and support we really appreicate its as this is a scary journey and we have laid our necks on the block unlike others I know

So why keep calling him a racehorse ?
To me it looks like advertising or at best just being deluded....

I for one don't think we will see a coloured horse racing in this country.

It's already happened. Can't remember the name of the horse, but I'm pretty sure it was a mare and she went hurdling. No doubt someone in the know will be along soon. Then you have a horse like Pancake, who I suppose could have been classed as coloured by some.

Both of them were racing a while ago now.

Sorry to say this angrovestud, but this is the first time I've seen Rummy! I feel it is amazing to see the different colours in throughbred racing today (for example The 'White' Fox) however I did get pretty excited to see a coloured!
Just wanted to ask, what breeding does he have? Good luck in the race!

Pancake was a chestnut who happened to have alot of white on him. He was bred to be a racehorse, not bred for his colour. I'm not saying it's impossible to have a nh horse who is coloured, although I think it would be useless but I don't believe we will ever see a coloured flat horse.

Both these horse have run! one on the flat one NH so before you go on make sure you know what your talking about I choose to call our Horse a racehorse because thats his Job like calling a horse a show jumper or like some people call them selves eventers when they watch them!
We bred Angrove rumbaba to be a racehorse just a coloured one

I think I'd rather they took their time than see Rummy as the subject of a "Raced too soon and ruined:(" type thread.

If he's not ready then it's better to wait until he is. Why not share how he's doing in the meantime? I post about my mare and she's not doing anything special!

No need to be rude ....I'm entitled to say he's not a racehorse, as he's not and ask why this has been going on for 2 years ? Racehorses have been bred for centuries, blood lines established etc and why anyone wants to breed them for colour is beyond me apart from the novelty factor....
I could put pictures of any horse up here, on the gallops and call them whatever I want but that doesn't make it a racehorse. Why not wait until or if he actually runs instead of all this publicity when it's never happened ?

Because a lot of people want to share this journey with us as it is interesting from a breeding and producing point of view, so much so that the TV are following him! they have done his he was a baby, I am not the one telling some one what they can or can not call their horse ! and I have not been rude, I will not call him a TB as hes only 87.5 % he is registered in the NTR
Beausmate your very welcome I know there breeder very well we have known each other for nearly 30 years

Good luck angrovestud, can't wait to hear more.

Bonny. Bit bored are you?

I have always had respect for people with their own opinions, kinda like jehovah witnesses, however, when you tell a JW thanks for your opinion, your entitled to it, they smile politely and walk away... What they don't do is repeatedly ram their opinion down your throat until you feel the urge to throw up all over them.

We read the first post. And the second.

We're bored now. Go find someone else to annoy...
