Has anyone seen one in the flesh??
I have heard tales that they exist-a bit like the mythical unicorn. I have also heard bad things ie their health and some dodgy going on regarding them.
Can you register them??

Thats what I was always led to believe but suposedly it happens. I was many moons ago told of a breeder who's mare threw a coloured so he hid the pair away until weaning then sold the colt on condition it be gelded! It was unreg as he refused to name his stallion as the sire.

coloured pure welsh D dont happen there will be another breed in there somewhere. but you can reg as a part bred as i have one

still i dint explain very well..i was trying to read the castle mouse post in soap box at the same time and all i can say i scandal lol

There isn't tobiano Welshies, but there are a number of loudly marked sabino ones, which sort of look coloured, but not patchy. I believe there are limits on the size of white patches welshies are allowed if they are to be registered as well.

Exactly what I was going to say Jojo2305. Sabuno exists in Welsh cobs and can be quite loud so that a pure bred Welsh might be eligible to show in coloured classes. However it is a totally different gene to the one that gives what we call tobianos/piebalds etc their patches.
Tobiano is a dominant gene so if a horse has it, it shows, even if the markings are very minimal. So if two pure bred Welsh cobs produce a tobiano foal, then I suspect the sire is not who he is claimed to be!

I personally wouldn't keep it as a stallion either but then again, maybe I'm too picky on what I class as good stallion potential.
